Wedbush maintains an "outperform" rating on Palantir and assigns a target price of $230.
Artificial intelligence and data analysis company Palantir's (PLTR.US) stock price fell by 6% in early trading on Friday, with a cumulative drop of over 30% so far this year, sparking market concerns about its growth prospects. Market analysis believes that the recent weakness in the software sector is partly due to intensified competition in the AI field, especially with the rapid rise of Anthropic. Data shows that Anthropic's current annual recurring revenue (ARR) has reached around $30 billion, a significant increase from $9 billion at the beginning of the year, making it an important new player in the AI race. However, Wall Street firm Wedbush points out that Anthropic's success has not had a substantial impact on Palantir. The report states that Palantir continues to show strong growth in its US commercial and government business, with a 137% year-on-year increase in commercial business and a 66% increase in government business, demonstrating its continued acceleration in core business. Wedbush maintains an "outperform" rating on Palantir and gives it a target price of $230. The firm believes that the market narrative that "Anthropic is eating away at Palantir's business" is not true and is an exaggerated market narrative. Analysis suggests that Palantir's competitive advantage lies in its "moat" built around data as its core, especially with the deep integration capabilities of its AIP platform in enterprise applications, which have not been replaced by Anthropic's modeling capabilities, but instead have been strengthened in the process of AI application deployment. It is worth noting that US President Trump has also expressed praise for Palantir on social media, stating its strong capabilities in the military field. Boosted by this news, Palantir's stock price narrowed its decline to 1.7%.
