According to Pakistani officials, the Iranian delegation is expected to arrive in Islamabad on Friday evening local time to prepare for the important Iran-US peace talks scheduled for Saturday. Sources revealed that the Iranian delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. On the US side, President Trump will send Vice President JD Vanns, Middle East envoy Steve Vittkov, and son-in-law Jared Kushner to Islamabad for the meeting. The aim of the talks is to turn the fragile ceasefire announced on Tuesday into a lasting peace agreement. The Iranian Embassy in Islamabad has not commented on the matter. Iran has not officially confirmed its participation in the negotiations and the list of delegates, but its official media has reported that Ghalibaf will lead the delegation. With Israel recently targeting Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, the prospect of reaching a permanent peace agreement this weekend remains uncertain. In addition, there are still significant disagreements between the US and Iran on the conditions for a long-term ceasefire, with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz being a key sticking point for both sides.
