Hong Kong Commissioner for Tourism Lo Shuk-pui believes that the situation in the Middle East has not affected tourists' desire to visit Hong Kong.
The Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Luo Shupei, believes that the situation in the Middle East has not affected tourists' desire to visit Hong Kong. She said that it is estimated that there will be 1 million tourists visiting Hong Kong during the May Day Golden Week this year, including 800 tour groups. In terms of hotels, she expects the average occupancy rate to be over 90%. Luo Shupei stated in an interview that although the global situation is volatile, it also highlights Hong Kong's advantages of safety, convenience, and fun. She cited the example of this year's Art Basel exhibition, which saw over 90,000 visitors, with at least 30-40% being tourists from outside Hong Kong. Luo Shupei mentioned that attractions such as Guanyin Cave and Monkey Hill are attractive to visitors from outside, and they will study ways to enhance promotion efforts.
