NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) and Emerald AI team up with six major powerhouses to jointly promote "power and data synergy" in order to create a new generation AI factory.
NVIDIA and Emerald AI are partnering with American power companies to advance the construction of a new generation of AI factories. These factories will not only be able to access the power grid more quickly, but will also serve as flexible energy assets to support the grid.
NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) is teaming up with Emerald AI and American Electric Power Company, Inc. (AES.US), Constellation Energy (CEG.US), Invenergy, NextEra Energy (NEE.US), Nscale Energy & Power, and Vistra (VST.US) to advance the construction of a new generation of AI factories. These factories will not only be able to connect to the grid faster, but will also serve as flexible energy assets to support the grid.
According to the partners, the new generation AI factories will utilize the NVIDIA Corporation Vera Rubin DSX AI factory reference design, which includes the DSX Flex software library to efficiently integrate AI factories with grid services.
To facilitate rapid deployment, AI factories can initially use nearby power generation and storage facilities as transitional power sources, forming hybrid AI factories. Subsequently, these resources can be flexibly scheduled to supply power to the grid, accelerating the grid connection process for AI factories and providing support to a wider electricity system. The partners stated that this model will help accelerate the deployment of AI computing power, creating more value for customers and communities.
NVIDIA Corporation's founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, stated, "NVIDIA Corporation and Emerald AI are working together to build the future of AI, enabling performance, efficiency, and grid responsiveness to cooperate instantly."
The collaborating companies also noted that Emerald AI's Conductor platform will coordinate computing power flexibility, integrate on-site generation, storage, and other user-side resources, and achieve precise responses to grid demands through power dispatch.
AES, Constellation, Invenergy, NextEra Energy, Nscale Energy & Power, and Vistra have committed to actively building generation capacity to ensure supply meets the growing demand for electricity.
All parties will jointly evaluate optimized power generation solutions for AI factories. These AI factories will be built based on the architecture jointly developed by NVIDIA Corporation and Emerald AI, and will explore hybrid project models using nearby power supply to shorten the power-on period and create greater value for the grid.
