In May and June of 2025, the median monthly salary for employees in Hong Kong was $21,200, which is 3.5% higher than the median from May to June 2024 ($20,500).
On March 23, according to figures released by the Hong Kong government's Census and Statistics Department, the median monthly wage of employees in Hong Kong in May to June 2025 was HK$21,200, a 3.5% increase from the median wage of HK$20,500 in May to June 2024. In May to June 2025, the 10th, 25th, 75th, and 90th percentile of monthly wages for employees in Hong Kong were HK$11,000, HK$15,300, HK$33,000, and HK$51,300 respectively, representing increases of 2.8%, 3.4%, 3.3%, and 2.7% from the corresponding figures in May to June 2024. The median monthly wages for male and female employees, as well as employees in different age groups, educational levels, occupational groups, and main industry categories, all showed increases. In terms of hourly wages, the median hourly wage for employees in Hong Kong in May to June 2025 was HK$85.7, a 3.4% increase from the median wage of HK$82.9 in May to June 2024. The 5th, 10th, 25th, 75th, and 90th percentile of hourly wages were HK$47.2, HK$51.1, HK$61.3, HK$135.9, and HK$214.2 respectively. In May to June 2025, the median hourly wage for male employees was HK$96.8, while female employees earned HK$75.8 per hour. By age group, employees aged 35 to 44 had the highest median hourly wage (HK$100.0), followed by those aged 25 to 34 (HK$90.0) and 45 to 54 (HK$86.4).
