After NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) CEO Huang Renxun revealed that the company has received purchase orders from Chinese customers, Wells Fargo & Company believes that China could bring tremendous momentum to this tech giant.
Analyst Aaron Rex wrote in a report to clients, "We had previously expected that China could bring in over $25 billion in incremental revenue per year, as well as non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) of over $0.60. NVIDIA Corporation had reported that the H20 export control in the first quarter of the 2026 fiscal year (April 2025) and the second quarter of the 2026 fiscal year (July 2025) caused approximately $4.6 billion (about 12%) and $4 billion (about 10%) revenue impact, respectively (H20 export ban occurred in mid-April). NVIDIA Corporation had previously indicated that the Chinese market accounted for 20% to 25% of its total data center revenue. We believe that NVIDIA Corporation may indicate that products will be shipped to China starting this quarter."
In addition to shipping H200 GPUs to Chinese customers, it is reported that NVIDIA Corporation is also developing a Groq Language Processing Unit (LPU), which could potentially be shipped to Chinese customers as early as next month. Rex added that, unlike the H200 (an improved version of the Hopper GPU sold by NVIDIA Corporation in the United States, but with lower performance), the Chinese version of the Groq LPU is less likely to "downgrade specifications," but rather "be able to adapt to different system configurations."
In December 2025, NVIDIA Corporation announced that it had acquired the technology license of Groq in a deal worth $20 billion and hired its founders.
