On the news front, a Guosheng research report pointed out that since the end of 2025, the retail prices of optical fiber cables have been continuously rising. It was reported that in February 2026, the price of G.652.D bare fiber had exceeded 30 yuan/core kilometer, with actual transaction prices mostly ranging between 40-50 yuan, and some channel prices even exceeding 50 yuan/core kilometer, with a cumulative increase of up to 94%-144%. The bank believes that the optical fiber cable industry has entered a high boom cycle, with leading manufacturers having integrated production capacity for optical fibers, high production flexibility, and the ability to expand overseas, which will fully benefit from the new cycle dividend. Galaxy Securities believes that in terms of demand, there has been a significant increase in demand for DCI, all-optical networks, and other products from the Center for Intelligent Computing. According to CWW and CRU data, global demand for optical fiber cables increased by 4.1% in 2025, with data center fiber cable demand increasing by 75.9%. This will drive global demand for optical fibers to climb to 880 million core kilometers by 2027. At the same time, in terms of supply, due to the long expansion cycle of global optical fiber rods (approximately 2 years for prefabricated fiber rods) and the relatively conservative overall expansion under pressure from prices, as well as the current market trend towards specialty optical fibers, the bank believes that there is still potential for the prices of optical fiber cables to rise.
