Cathay Pacific Airways (00293) announced that Cathay Pacific's Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, Ronald Lam, stated: "The Group had a solid start in 2026, with the strong momentum seen at the end of last year's peak travel season continuing into early January. Cathay Pacific Airways and Hong Kong Express together carried over 3.3 million passengers in January, an increase of 11% compared to the same month in 2025. Also, Cathay Pacific Cargo carried over 130,000 tonnes of cargo in January, an increase of 5% compared to the previous year."

"Our performance at the beginning of the year was solid and continued to improve in February. On February 14, 2026, Cathay Pacific Airways and Jiangxi Guotai Group both set a new record for daily passenger numbers. Cathay Pacific Airways achieved a record-breaking daily passenger number for the first time in history, carrying 100,700 passengers on that day; together with Hong Kong Express, the group carried approximately 128,000 passengers." Cathay Pacific Airways' passenger numbers in January 2026 increased by 11% compared to the same month in 2025. Available seat kilometers increased by 14% year-on-year. Cathay Pacific Cargo's cargo volume in January 2026 increased by 5% compared to the same month in 2025, and available cargo tonne kilometers increased by 3% year-on-year. Hong Kong Express carried over 710,000 passengers in January 2026, an 8% increase compared to the same month in 2025, with available seat kilometers increasing by 13%.
