Bank of East Asia (00023) announced its annual performance for the year ending December 31, 2025, with interest income of HKD 32.968 billion, representing a 17.18% decrease year-on-year. Shareholders' attributable profit was HKD 3.501 billion, a decrease of 24.02% year-on-year, with basic earnings per share of HKD 1.22 and a final dividend of HKD 0.61 per share.
Bank of East Asia (00023) released its annual performance for the year ending December 31, 2025, with interest income of HK$32.968 billion, a decrease of 17.18% year-on-year; profit attributable to shareholders of HK$3.501 billion, a decrease of 24.02% year-on-year; and basic earnings per share of HK$1.22. The core business of the Group continues to perform steadily. Pre-provision operating profit has remained stable year-on-year at HK$11.2 billion. Non-interest income has increased by 28%, which is encouraging, and has allowed the company to achieve growth in operating income in a challenging macro environment. This reflects the company's strategies, including diversification of business and establishment of a sustainable business platform for future growth, which have shown initial success. The company continues to prudently make provisions for exposure to commercial real estate. 77% of the provisions made in the current year were related to commercial real estate in Hong Kong and Mainland China. The valuation of the company's investment property portfolio was also reduced by HK$723 million. Additionally, the Group recorded a loss of HK$305 million from associated companies and joint ventures, mainly from an associated company in Mainland China.
