The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government publishes the "Transport Strategy Blueprint" to promote interconnectedness between cities in the Greater Bay Area.
On February 6th, the Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Cheung Mei Po, announced the Hong Kong Transport Strategy Blueprint. The Blueprint consists of three main themes, six strategies, and proposes 25 specific recommendations.
On February 6, the Commissioner for Transport and Logistics of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Mable Chan, announced the Hong Kong "Transport Strategy Blueprint". The "Blueprint" contains three main themes, six strategies, and proposes 25 specific recommendations.
The "Blueprint" suggests gradually expanding the "Guangdong-registered vehicles heading south" to other cities in Guangdong Province, and will strive to implement mutual recognition of commercial vehicle driver's licenses among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao next year. It will also promote the interoperability of public transportation information among cities in the Greater Bay Area, making it easier for residents and travelers to access real-time cross-border public transportation information.
The "Blueprint" mentions the recommendation to expand transportation infrastructure, build interconnected networks, including the full opening of the sixth trunk line under the layout of the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" transportation infrastructure this year, and to vigorously promote a series of railway and major road projects, as well as to research expanding capacity for cross-sea transport.
