NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) founder Huang Renxun predicts optimistically: AI "power shortage driver" is nothing to fear, will eventually drive down energy prices
NVIDIA CEO Huang Renxun stated that the massive construction of artificial intelligence infrastructure in various areas is currently putting pressure on the power grid, ultimately leading to a decrease in energy costs.
NVIDIA Corporation CEO Jensen Huang said that the large-scale construction of artificial intelligence infrastructure in many places is currently putting pressure on the power grid, which will ultimately drive down energy costs.
Speaking at a conference in Houston, Huang pointed out that as investments drive more electricity generation online and AI is applied in energy production and distribution, it will help reduce costs in the long run.
"This will happen, energy costs will come down," Huang asserted. "Because market forces are compelling us to invest in energy supply. As energy supply increases, we will also modernize the grid."
Recently, Huang also stated that the proposed investment of up to $100 billion in OpenAI is "never a commitment" and the company will consider financing "round by round."
Huang did not specify the exact amount the company might invest, but described the investment as "significant" and potentially the "largest investment we've ever made." He added that NVIDIA Corporation's contribution to OpenAI's current funding round will not be close to $100 billion. When asked about the deployment of the first gigawatt-scale project in their joint investment plan, Huang said, "It depends on OpenAI," and "it's their infrastructure."
