Macau's GDP increased by 7.6% in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the previous year.
The preliminary figure of Macao's GDP in the fourth quarter of 2025 is 115.39 billion Macao Patacas, a real growth of 7.6% year-on-year, and the economic output has recovered to 94.1% of the same period in 2019.
Data from the Statistics and Census Service of Macau shows that, benefiting from the hosting of several large-scale events in the fourth quarter of 2025 in Macau and a series of measures taken by the SAR government to attract tourists, the number of visitors to Macau has seen a significant increase, driving the growth of service exports and maintaining a steady and progressive development trend in Macau's overall economy. The preliminary GDP for the fourth quarter of 2025 in Macau was 1153.9 billion Patacas, representing a real growth of 7.6% compared to the same period last year, with the overall economic output recovering to 94.1% of the level in 2019.
A breakdown of the major components shows that, driven by a 15.4% year-on-year increase in inbound visitors in the fourth quarter of 2025, Macau's overall service exports increased by 9.8%. On the demand side, government final consumption expenditure and private consumption expenditure increased by 1.3% and 1.1% respectively, while total fixed capital formation also saw a 0.9% increase.
The preliminary GDP for the full year of 2025 in Macau was 4172.8 billion Patacas, representing a real growth of 4.7% compared to the previous year, with the economic output recovering to 89.6% of the level in 2019.
