HSBC Hong Kong's Chief Executive for Greater China and North Asia, Diana Cesar, stated during her speech at the Asian Financial Forum that innovation and geopolitics are reshaping the capital markets, and she believes that Hong Kong has the advantage of global connectivity.
Standard Chartered Hong Kong, Greater China and North Asia CEO Mary Hui stated in her speech at the ASIA FINANCIAL forum that innovation and geopolitics are reshaping the capital markets, and believes that Hong Kong has the advantage of global connectivity. In the ever-changing environment, timely policy measures are being introduced to boost market confidence. The People's Bank of China and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority have further expanded the RMB business funding arrangement to 200 billion RMB, laying the foundation for the next stage of mutual connectivity development. Confidence has already been reflected in the economy, capital markets, and business activities, and is also translating into tangible results.
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing CEO Charles Li stated that the current competitors of the HKEX include not only traditional exchanges but also emerging virtual platforms, and therefore must possess depth and breadth of professional capabilities. Investors are increasing their exposure to the Chinese market, and Hong Kong should offer product choices beyond stocks.
Charles Li pointed out that the future development of exchanges cannot do without stable coins, tokenization, and 24-hour trading. HKEX will continue to invest in technology and is also promoting infrastructure reforms such as shortening the settlement cycle for new stocks.
