From January to December 2025, the country's total electricity market trading volume reached 66.394 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%, accounting for 64.0% of the total electricity consumption in society, an increase of 1.3 percentage points from the previous year.
On January 23, the data from the National Energy Administration showed that by December 2025, the national electricity market transaction volume had reached 608 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 6.6% compared to the previous year. In terms of trading scope, the transaction volume within provinces was 464.1 billion kilowatt-hours, a 5.3% increase, while the cross-provincial and cross-regional transaction volume was 143.9 billion kilowatt-hours, an 11.3% increase. In terms of trading types, the volume of medium and long-term transactions was 582.2 billion kilowatt-hours, spot transactions were 25.8 billion kilowatt-hours, and green energy transactions were 31.7 billion kilowatt-hours, a 32.3% increase.
From January to December 2025, the total electricity market transaction volume in the country reached 663.94 billion kilowatt-hours, a 7.4% increase compared to the previous year, accounting for 64.0% of the total social electricity consumption, an increase of 1.3 percentage points. In terms of trading scope, the transaction volume within provinces was 50.473 billion kilowatt-hours, a 6.2% increase, while the cross-provincial and cross-regional transaction volume was 15.921 billion kilowatt-hours, an 11.6% increase, including 3.4 billion kilowatt-hours of transactions across grid operation zones. In terms of trading types, the volume of medium and long-term transactions was 63.522 billion kilowatt-hours, spot transactions were 287.2 billion kilowatt-hours, and green energy transactions were 328.5 billion kilowatt-hours, a 38.3% increase.
