On January 12th, the Ministry of Commerce released a notice on the progress of consultations on electric car cases between China and Europe.
On January 12th, the Ministry of Commerce issued a briefing on the progress of consultations on the China-EU electric car case. It pointed out that both sides unanimously believe that it is necessary to provide Chinese exporters of pure electric cars to the EU with general guidance on price commitments, so that Chinese exporters can address relevant concerns in a more practical, targeted, and WTO-compliant manner. To this end, the European side will issue a "Guidance Document on Submitting Price Commitment Applications" and confirm in the document that the European side will adhere to non-discrimination principles, apply the same legal standards to each price commitment application according to WTO rules, and evaluate them objectively and fairly.
This fully reflects the spirit of dialogue and the results of consultations between China and the EU. Both China and the EU have the ability and willingness to properly address their differences through dialogue and consultations within the framework of WTO rules, thereby maintaining the stability of the China-EU and global automotive industry supply chains. This is not only beneficial for the healthy development of China-EU economic and trade relations, but also for upholding the rules-based international trade order.
