CENTRAL NEW EGY (01735) teams up with Chinese ice giants to build a new global paradigm for clean energy.
On October 16th, Jilin Huajin Energy Co., Ltd. signed a green methanol project and global procurement cooperation agreement with Carbon Recycling International (CRI)/Methanol Holdings. Meanwhile, Zhongsheng New Energy Innovation Research Institute Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Zhongsheng New Energy Holdings Group (01735), signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Jilin Huajin Energy Co., Ltd.
On October 16, during the visit of Icelandic President Guni Th. Jhannesson to China, the 2025 Sustainable Global Leadership Conference was held in Shanghai. The theme event of the conference - the China-Iceland Business Cooperation Signing Ceremony took place simultaneously, with Icelandic President Guni Th. Jhannesson in attendance. During the event, Jilin Huajin Energy Co., Ltd. signed a green methanol project and global procurement cooperation agreement with Iceland Carbon Recycling International (CRI)/Methanol (McPhy); Central New EGY Holding Group Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Jilin Huajin Energy Co., Ltd.
Chinese Ambassador to Iceland He Rulong, Icelandic Ambassador to China Judit Eiben, Zhang Longbiao, member of the party group and deputy mayor of Yushu City Government in Jilin Province, national think tank expert in green fuel industry planning, project commander for green fuel projects, and general manager of China Construction Sixth Engineering Bureau's Northeast Regional Headquarters Jiang Tao, Chairman of Central New EGY Holding Group Yu Zhuyun, President of Zou Min, Finance Director of Huaineng New Energy in Liaoning Province, China Railway Construction Corporation Bridge Construction Bureau Group Co., Ltd. Northeast Regional Commander Han Zaiming, Wang A post from the Sixth Engineering Bureau of China State Construction Engineering Corporation's New Energy Business Department attended the signing ceremony.
Strategic coordination to build a green energy industry chain
Central New EGY is a comprehensive group listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, focusing on photovoltaic new energy, deepening the high-end manufacturing industry, focusing on innovative research and development, intelligent manufacturing, product marketing, and low-carbon smart park development and operation of advanced photovoltaic cell manufacturing and efficient photovoltaic component. According to the agreement, all parties will cooperate deeply around Huajin Energy's three major green methanol projects: Yushu project in Jilin (2GW), Baicheng project in Jilin (planning), and Huludao project in Liaoning (planning). Central New EGY will participate as a strategic investor and provide core products and key technical support such as green photovoltaic components and sodium-ion battery energy storage systems; Iceland Carbon Recycling International (CRI)/McPhy, as a technology leader, will provide carbon capture and green methanol synthesis solutions for the project with its globally leading carbon capture and hydrogenation to methanol technology (ETL); Huajin Energy will prioritize the introduction of Central New EGY as a supply chain partner and coordinate complementary new energy resources. The project partners cover central enterprises, top global institutions, and core enterprises in the entire industry chain, providing comprehensive guarantees for the implementation of the project. The parties plan to deepen cooperation in the fields of photovoltaics, wind power, hydrogen ammonia, SAF (sustainable aviation fuel) in Jilin and surrounding areas, build a closed-loop ecology of "green electricity-green methanol-green applications", and further establish an international cooperation paradigm of "CENTRAL NEW EGY (technology+investment)+Huajin Energy (capacity)+Iceland CRI/McPhy (carbon technology+global procurement).
Strong alliance promotes the practical implementation of global climate governance
It is worth mentioning that this cooperation is a continuation of the cooperation between Central New EGY and Iceland CRI/McPhy - in June of this year, the two parties signed a strategic agreement at the SNEC2025 exhibition.
As a practical cooperation in green collaboration between the two countries, this signing activity is not only complementary between companies but also a specific measure to promote global climate governance between China and Iceland. It not only provides a sample of practice for breaking through the scale bottleneck of China's green methanol industry and participating in global competition, but also an important exploration to promote international green technology collaboration and build a resilient global energy supply chain. It not only responds to the strategic goal of "building a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system" but also helps the old industrial base in Northeast China achieve the dual goals of "energy structure adjustment and industrial upgrading", and cultivates a model of "new quality productivity" to contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to global climate change.
Resonance of potential creates a new paradigm of green frontier
From building an "technology-market" international link with Iceland CRI/McPhy to joining hands with Huajin Energy to create a "green electricity-capacity" strategic loop, Central New EGY, with this signing as an opportunity, is building a green energy ecosystem that is "based in China and linked globally".
Central New EGY is advancing its business layout under the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative, focusing on integrating domestic green technology achievements into the global energy transition process. According to publicly available information, its sub-brand, Zhongji Low-Carbon Smart Park Solution has already commercialized and is providing services to more than a hundred industrial enterprises, industrial parks, and city entities both domestically and internationally, helping partners complete energy structure adjustments and industrial upgrades through scenario expansion. At the international cooperation level, it has collaborations with overseas companies and institutions such as Sama Tech, Honeywell UOP, ONYX Group, Oman ENGLTD, and Saudi FCC in the field of green energy-related business.
