Ceremony for the Import of Taiwan Fishery Products into the Mainland Held in Xiamen

The ceremony for the import of Taiwanese fishery products into the mainland was held in Xiamen on the 23rd, with more than 200 people from various sectors across the Taiwan Strait participating in the event. Song Tao, Director of the Taiwan Work Office of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, attended the event and delivered a speech. He stated that in order to implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his meeting with Cheng Li-wun, Chairperson of the Chinese Kuomintang, the Taiwan Work Office of the CPC Central Committee was authorized to release ten policy measures to promote cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, and, together with relevant parties on the island, on the political basis of adhering to the "1992 Consensus" and opposing "Taiwan independence," has continued to push for the implementation of the ten measures and achieved positive progress. With the joint efforts of the two parties across the strait and compatriots on both sides, it is entirely possible to solve difficulties, find ways forward, secure livelihoods, and enhance well-being for Taiwanese farmers and fishermen. It is hoped that the vast number of Taiwanese compatriots will uphold the national righteousness, resolutely oppose "Taiwan independence" separatism and external interference, join hands with mainland compatriots to safeguard peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, protect the common homeland of the Chinese nation, promote the peaceful development and integrated development of cross-strait relations, and jointly create a bright future of national rejuvenation and national reunification. Wu Xielin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee and Secretary-General, delivered a speech stating that Fujian, as the main channel for Taiwanese agricultural and fishery products entering the mainland, has always regarded "promoting the development of Taiwan's agriculture and fishery industries and small and medium-sized enterprises in Fujian" as a key task in building the cross-strait integrated development demonstration zone. In the next step, Fujian will continue to implement the ten measures in detail, promote deeper and more substantive Fujian-Taiwan fishery cooperation, and accelerate the building of the first homeland for Taiwanese compatriots and enterprises to land.
