Q3 net profit expected to increase by up to 2.6 times VS stock price plunging 10% in a single day, why is Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic(03228)'s profit alert unable to lift its stock price?
When an "better-than-expected" earnings report is released, the first reaction of funds is no longer to chase the rally, but to cash in profits.
On October 9, just 10 days after listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, PCB leader Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic (03228) delivered a third-quarter report card with a substantial profit increase.
In Q3 2026, the company expects to achieve operating revenue of RMB 6.12 billion to RMB 6.98 billion, up 53.48% to 75.05% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders of RMB 912 million to RMB 1.089 billion, up 205.46% to 264.74% year-on-year. The profit from just one quarter exceeded the combined RMB 602 million from the first half of this year.
For Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic, a PCB leader listed in both A-shares and H-shares, the significance of this earnings forecast goes far beyond a single-quarter profit surge. It is an acceptance test for years of capital investment: the continuously increased high-end production capacity for AI computing power PCBs and automotive electronics has finally reached the window for order fulfillment.
However, this "explosive" report card did not a sustained stock price rally on October 12, Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic's Hong Kong shares opened more than 4% higher but quickly fell back, with intraday volatility reaching 15.35%, dropping from a high of HKD 83.4 to as low as HKD 71.4, and closing down 10.44% at HKD 71.2; its A-shares closed down 0.93% at RMB 96.98 that day.

After the positive profit alert, the stock price fell instead of rising. Is Kinwong's high growth a short-term industry boom pulse, or a permanent elevation of its profit center?
From "revenue growth without profit growth" to "accelerated profit release"
To understand the explosive power of Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic's Q3 2026, one must likely understand its 2025 financial backdrop.
In the first three quarters of 2025, Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic's revenue was RMB 11.083 billion, up 22.08% year-on-year, but net profit attributable to shareholders was only RMB 948 million, with a year-on-year growth rate of just 4.83%; non-GAAP net profit was RMB 776 million, down 6.36% year-on-year. Revenue rose by more than 20%, while profit barely moved. The reason is not complicated: expenses during the AI capacity construction period were front-loaded, compounded by exchange losses and share-based compensation expenses eroding the financial statements. Looking at Q3 2025 alone, revenue was RMB 3.987 billion (+24.19% year-on-year), and net profit attributable to shareholders was RMB 299 million (+20.44% year-on-year), with profit growth clearly lagging revenue growth.
This divergence of "volume rising without profit rising" was completely broken in Q3 2026.
The most noteworthy figure is not the 205% year-on-year increase in net profit attributable to shareholders, but the performance of non-GAAP net profit: expected at RMB 939 million to RMB 1.116 billion, up 294.34% to 368.68% year-on-year, and up 239.90% to 303.97% quarter-on-quarter. The non-GAAP growth rate significantly outpacing the attributable growth rate indicates that the profit improvement comes from substantive enhancement of the main business, rather than window dressing through one-time gains and losses.
The company's explanation points to two directions: first, accelerated mass production and shipment of high-performance PCBs in the high-speed communications and AI data infrastructure fields; second, order structure optimization and internal cost reduction and efficiency enhancement working together. As of the end of the reporting period, the company had full order books in AI servers and data centers and high-speed optical modules, with capacity utilization and yield rates remaining at high levels.
This means that the "construction period costs" that suppressed Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic's profits in 2025 are being converted into "harvest period profits" in 2026.
Institutional expectations are also quickly following up. Among them, on September 3, China Post Securities released a research report on Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic (603228), forecasting Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic's 2026 net profit at RMB 2.511 billion and giving a "Buy" rating. In addition, Changjiang, Caixin Securities, and CMSC have also recently given Buy or Recommend ratings. It is worth noting that the company's 2026 equity incentive net profit target is set at RMB 2 billion to RMB 2.2 billion, implying a growth rate of approximately +79% compared with 2025 Q3's actual performance is validating or even exceeding this target.
From "revenue growth without profit growth" to "accelerated profit release," Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic is completing a switch from the AI capacity construction period to the harvest period. The hardest signal in Q3 2026 is not the 205% increase in net profit attributable to shareholders, but the nearly threefold year-on-year and more than twofold quarter-on-quarter growth in non-GAAP net profit this shows that the profit improvement comes from mass production and shipment of high-speed communications and AI data infrastructure PCBs, order structure optimization, and cost reduction and efficiency enhancement, rather than one-time gains and losses.
But the fuller the expectations, the more one must face the risks squarely: exchange rate fluctuations, rising raw material prices, capacity ramp-up and yield volatility, changes in the pace of AI capital expenditure, intensifying industry competition, and share-based compensation amortization may all cause fluctuations in profit release.
Industry logic upgrade: from "competing on capacity" to "competing on yield"
If the earnings inflection point is the result, then the change in industry competition logic is the cause.
AI computing power demand for PCBs is undergoing a structural leap. According to CIC Consulting data, in terms of revenue, the global AI server PCB market size is expected to grow from USD 3.5 billion in 2024 to USD 10.8 billion in 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 20.7% from 2024 to 2030. According to Soochow statistics, the global AI server PCB market size will rise from USD 3 billion in 2024 to more than USD 20 billion by 2027, corresponding to year-on-year growth rates of more than 100% and 70% in 2026 and 2027 respectively, indicating an even faster industry leap.
But what truly deserves investors' attention is not total growth, but the switch in competitive dimensions.
Over the past two years, almost all PCB manufacturers have increased investment in the AI computing power field. New capacity for high-order HDI and ultra-high layer count boards is expected to be continuously released from the second half of 2026 to 2027. Capacity scale itself is changing from a scarce resource into an industry standard.
At the same time, high-speed M8-M9 grade copper clad laminates and PTFE materials remain scarce resources across the industry. Downstream customers' focus in evaluating suppliers is shifting from "can you do it" to "can you do it with high yield."
And Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic happens to stand in a favorable position for this shift.
Having the PCB field for more than 30 years, Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic is already the world's largest automotive electronics PCB supplier. According to CIC Consulting data, based on 2025 revenue, the company holds a 10.6% share of the global automotive electronics PCB market, ranking first globally.
Its process management capabilities and quality control system accumulated from deep cultivation in automotive-grade products have unexpectedly become its sharpest weapon in the AI era. It is reported that in addition to being the world's leading automotive electronics PCB supplier, Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic is also one of the few manufacturers providing PCB products to leading global AI computing infrastructure enterprises.
At present, Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic has mass-produced high-end PCBs that can be applied to fields such as AI computing infrastructure, including 40+ layer high-layer-count PCBs, 6-order 22-layer HDI PCBs, 14-layer HDI PCBs using mSAP process, and multilayer PTFE FPCs. In addition, the company also has manufacturing capabilities for 70+ layer high-layer-count PCBs, 9-order 28-layer HDI PCBs, 12-layer any-layer rigid-flex boards, and high-speed FPCs.
The company also disclosed that it has supplied 800G products in volume to multiple leading optical module customers and is actively cooperating with internationally leading customers on early-stage development, expecting mass production breakthroughs with CSP customers such as G, A, and M from Q4 2026 to 2027. The Zhuhai Jinwan HDI and mSAP production lines are accelerating implementation, the Thailand base is expanding overseas customers, and the release of high-end capacity is supporting the continuous introduction of high-gross-margin orders over the next two years.
From the above, it is not difficult to see that after the capacity arms race, yield, material supply, and long-term stable quality control capabilities are the admission tickets for the elimination round. With the process heritage accumulated from its automotive-grade business, Kinwong has successfully entered the AI computing hardware supply chain. The Jinwan and Thailand bases continue to release high-end capacity, and with the mass production window for optical module customers iterating from 800G to next-generation products, the company has obtained admission to structural growth. But the challenges behind the opportunity cannot be ignored either. Whether the company can transform from a "position holder" into a "price setter" does not depend on how hot the story is, but on whether high-end orders can become sustained high gross margins.
Conclusion
In summary, it can be seen that Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic's profit alert ten days after its Hong Kong listing is a phased validation of Kinwong's strategic layout over the past several years. The company has completed the fundamental switch from "construction period" to "harvest period," holding both the automotive-grade PCB base and the AI computing power incremental track, and occupying a first-mover advantage in the industry elimination round shifting from competing on capacity to competing on yield. But a single-quarter explosion is not enough to prove long-term growth certainty.
The core reason its stock price fell instead of rising after the profit alert is that Kinwong's A-shares had already risen more than 80% cumulatively since April this year, and even touched a historical high of RMB 113.56 in mid-September. The market's expectations for high earnings growth had long been fully priced in. When an "above-expectations" financial report lands, the first reaction of funds is no longer to chase the rally, but to take profits.
For investors, three major indicators need to be continuously tracked going forward: the sustainability of high-end board orders in hand, the trend of comprehensive gross margin, and the progress of new capacity delivery and ramp-up. The profit alert is only a phased test, not the final exam answer sheet. Going forward, whether Shenzhen Kinwong Electronic can convert short-term earnings pulses into a steady upward medium- to long-term profit curve remains to be tested by time.
