Montage Technology (06809) opened over 11% higher, up 11.73% as of press time at HK$320, with turnover of HK$101 million. On the news front, Meta's AI agent Muse, released earlier this month, quickly topped the free app rankings on the Apple App Store, reigniting market enthusiasm for CPU manufacturers and driving collective gains in chip stocks including Intel and Arm overnight. Analysts noted that the proliferation of AI agents will drive up inference and infrastructure loads, thereby benefiting server CPU demand. Notably, Intel CEO Chen Liwu previously stated that CPU demand is growing rapidly, leading to tight supply and demand, and that the shortage may persist as AI applications develop. It is understood that as CPU usage grows in the Agentic AI era, demand for memory interconnect chips is expected to rise. Montage Technology has a rich interconnect chip product matrix and achieved a market share of 36.8% in 2024. A CLSA research report pointed out that as AI shifts from model training to inference, particularly with the development of AI agents, demand for server CPUs is continuously rising. The firm believes Montage Technology is a major beneficiary of strong CPU demand.
