The EU executive body, the European Commission, is considering including a clause in its new sanctions package that would ban all imports of natural gas from Russia, whether through pipelines or in the form of liquefied natural gas. The European Commission is currently preparing to phase out pipeline gas imports by October 2025 and is now planning to propose a law to expedite the ban on Russian liquefied natural gas.
