Goldman Sachs said that the possible direction of the US dollar/Asian currency pairs is still downward after recent progress in trade negotiations. It stated that despite recent progress in trade negotiations between the US and China, the main themes in the market have not changed. These themes include: the trend of gradually diversifying investments away from US assets is expected to continue; Asian exporters are likely to continue converting US dollars into local currencies; and if the Asian region engages in trade negotiations with the US, currency depreciation may become more difficult.
