The 2025 World Power Battery Conference, with the theme of "Quality Strong Chain Empowering the Development of Power Battery Industry", will be held in Yibin, Sichuan.

On November 13, 2025, the special conference "Quality Strong Chain Empowers the Development of Power Battery Industry" of the World Power Battery Conference was held in Yibin City, Sichuan Province. Shu Wei, member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the State Administration for Market Regulation, director of the National Accreditation Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting pointed out that quality is the foundation of entrepreneurship and the basis of a strong country, and it is the only way to guide the power battery industry towards high-quality development. In order to comprehensively and thoroughly implement the "Outline of Building a Quality Strong Country", the State Administration for Market Regulation system is promoting the strengthening of quality, enterprises, and counties, to better play the role of quality in promoting enterprises to grow stronger, supporting the construction of a strong chain in the industry, and promoting the sustainable development of cities. Since 2024, a total of 1724 quality strong chain projects have been implemented nationwide, solving 18254 quality bottlenecks. In terms of industrial development, the meeting proposed to deeply understand the importance of quality strong chain in the development of the power battery industry, strengthen the overall quality management of the chain is a necessary defense line for preventing and resolving major safety risks and ensuring the steady development of the industry; grasp the main challenges and opportunities faced by the quality chain of the power battery industry accurately, accelerate the construction of the carbon footprint measurement standard system, improve the product certification system for the successive use of power batteries, and promote the construction of standards and norms covering the full lifecycle of research and development, design, production, manufacturing, use maintenance, retirement recycling, and reuse to jointly promote the green and low-carbon development of the power battery industry; efforts should be made to achieve new results in promoting the quality strong chain of the power battery industry, creating an environment conducive to the construction of a strong chain in the power battery industry, and ensuring the openness, stability, and safety of the supply chain of the power battery industry in China. During the meeting, representatives from relevant government departments, experts in the field of power batteries, experts in quality basic research, and representatives from well-known enterprises discussed and exchanged views on the theme of the conference, including policy interpretation, situation sharing, empowerment of the battery industry by the NQI system, quality financing, carbon footprint labeling certification rules and practices for power lithium batteries, technological innovation, standardization trends, how China's quality strong chain of power batteries should respond to the new EU battery passport regulations, and other cutting-edge topics and practices.
