In the first 10 months of this year, Hunan ranked first in the scale of non-trade in the central and western regions.

According to Changsha Customs, since the approval of the overall plan for the construction of the "China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Pilot Zone" in Hunan Province in January 2024, as of October 2025, the total import and export volume between Hunan and Africa has exceeded one hundred billion yuan, reaching 103.64 billion yuan, with exports totaling 53.34 billion yuan and imports totaling 50.3 billion yuan. Trade partners cover almost all countries and regions in Africa. In the first 10 months of this year, the import and export volume between Hunan and Africa reached 48.85 billion yuan, an increase of 17% compared to the same period last year, making it the largest in terms of trade volume with Africa in central and western China.
