"New Glenn" rocket carrying Mars probe launched into the air, the first stage achieved sea recovery.
On the 13th, Blue Origin launched the reusable New Glenn heavy-lift rocket, carrying NASA's Mars probe into space. This launch marks the first successful sea recovery of the rocket's first stage. The live broadcast from Blue Origin showed that on the 13th at around 3:55 PM Eastern Time, New Glenn lifted off from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The rocket's first and second stages separated, with the second stage and its pair of ESCAPADE Mars probes continuing on to their planned orbit. The first stage of the rocket successfully landed on a recovery ship in the Atlantic as planned. NASA later confirmed that the ESCAPADE probe had successfully separated from the rocket's second stage. In addition to the Mars probe, New Glenn also carried tech demo equipment from the US satellite communication company Xplornet to support NASA's communication service project.
