Ministry of Water Resources: comprehensively enhance the capability to prevent water and drought disasters, and the ability to save and intensively use water resources.

On November 12th, the Ministry of Water Resources held a seminar to study and implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Party. Li Guoying, Secretary of the Party Group and Minister of Water Resources, emphasized the need to carefully align with the Party's positions, focus on the role of water resources, scientifically plan and prepare the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan" for water security, and translate the grand blueprint outlined in the plenary session into detailed construction plans and roadmaps. He stressed the importance of setting clear tasks, timelines, and priorities, maintaining strategic determination, enhancing confidence in victory, seizing opportunities, continuing to promote high-quality water resources development, ensuring water security in China, and comprehensively enhancing the defense capabilities against water and drought disasters, water resource conservation and intensive utilization, water resource optimization, and the ecological protection and governance of rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. These efforts will contribute to ensuring decisive progress towards achieving socialist modernization. Li Guoying also emphasized the need to resolutely complete the annual goals and tasks of water resources work, early planning for key water resources work in 2026, ensuring smooth coordination and continuation of various tasks, and achieving a successful conclusion to the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" and a good start to the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan."
