The transfer of water in the eastern section of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project exceeded 83.8 billion cubic meters.

Reporters learned from the South-to-North Water Diversion Group in China that as of now, the accumulated water diversion from the Eastern Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project to the northern regions has exceeded 83.8 billion cubic meters, benefiting 195 million people in 48 large and medium-sized cities along the route, and providing strong support for the GDP growth of over 1.9 trillion yuan in the northern regions.
