Shanghai Hongkou: During the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the cumulative economic contribution of the shipping industry has increased by more than three times compared to the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period.
On November 12th, at the special session of the Shanghai "14th Five-Year Plan" achievement series theme press conference in Hongkou District, Deputy District Mayor Chen Shuai stated that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Hongkou District closely focuses on the overall situation of building Shanghai's "five centers" and promotes the comprehensive leapfrogging of the shipping and financial industries in terms of scale and level. In the shipping sector, Hongkou District has formed a distinctive "6789" phenomenon, with shipping brokerage scale accounting for about 60% of the city, ship capacity accounting for nearly 70%, water transport turnover accounting for about 80%, and over 90% of sea freight clearance at the Shanghai port being completed in the North Bund, increasingly becoming the "ballast stone" in the Shanghai shipping pattern. The shipping industry's cumulative economic contribution has grown by more than three times compared to the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, accounting for over 23% of the district's economy.
