Jilin Province: Will launch 800 schools with ice and snow features, encouraging schools to have their own ice rinks.

At the 2025-2026 Snow Season Series press conference, XU Zhi, Deputy Director of the Education Department of Jilin Province, introduced that by the end of the year, the number of schools with characteristics of ice and snow sports in the province will be expanded to 800. Schools are encouraged to build their own ice rinks and promote the transformation of playgrounds into ice rinks. The number of self-built ice rinks in primary and secondary schools should not be less than 200, providing more convenient sports conditions for children and students. It is encouraged for outstanding retired athletes in ice and snow sports to enter schools as coaches and counselors for ice and snow sports.
