Recently, the Ministry of Education and six other departments jointly issued the "Opinions on Strengthening Science and Technology Education in Primary and Secondary Schools", which highlights the importance of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, effectively strengthening science and technology education in primary and secondary schools, laying a solid foundation for cultivating talents in science and technology innovation, supporting the self-reliance and self-improvement of high-level science and technology, and promoting integrated development of education, science and technology, and high-quality talents. The "Opinions" require that by 2030, the basic establishment of the science and technology education system in primary and secondary schools, the further improvement of the curriculum system, the continuous deepening of teaching reforms, the establishment of evaluation and guarantee conditions system, and the further strengthening of teacher team development. By 2035, the comprehensive construction of the science and technology education ecosystem, the continuous improvement of the social resource support mechanism, the widespread application of project-based, inquiry-based, and interdisciplinary teaching methods targeting practical scenarios, students comprehensively using knowledge and skills in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, etc., significant improvement in hands-on practice and problem-solving abilities, better meeting the people's desire for fair and high-quality education, and better supporting the construction of an education powerhouse.
