In a podcast, Tesla CEO Elon Musk predicted a radical future: in the next 5-6 years, traditional phones and apps will disappear and most of the content consumed by humans will be generated by artificial intelligence. Musk believes "There will be no operating system, no apps in the future. Your phone will only display pixels and sound. It will predict what you most want to see and hear, and generate it in real time. We will integrate AI into this device as much as possible." Musk threw out the idea that there will no longer be traditional phones as we know them, and what we call phones now are actually edge nodes for AI reasoning, equipped with some radio modules for connecting.
