MIIT: Step up efforts to advance the development of the AI industry and empower the manufacturing sector, and help upgrade the quality of commodity consumption with more solid measures
Zhitong Finance APP has learned that on October 19, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the situation regarding accelerating the advancement of science and technology-driven commerce. Wei Wei, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that according to estimates, the scale of China's core artificial intelligence industry will exceed 1.2 trillion yuan in 2025. At present, various intelligent products and services are accelerating in popularity and application. Next, efforts will be intensified to advance the development of the artificial intelligence industry and empower the manufacturing sector, using more concrete measures to help upgrade the quality of commodity consumption. Work will focus on three areas: First, strengthening technological supply. Through channels such as the "open competition mechanism to select the best candidates," continuous efforts will be made to tackle key artificial intelligence technologies, and, oriented toward real-world scenario needs, a batch of cost-effective and replicable intelligent solutions will be rapidly produced to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and expand development space for emerging and future industries. Second, accelerating product renewal. Together with the Ministry of Commerce and other departments, and in conjunction with channels such as "trade-in" programs, the popularization of products such as AI computers and mobile phones will be accelerated. Efforts will be made to promote the development and iteration of intelligent terminals such as brain-computer interfaces and embodied intelligence, and to develop intelligent industrial machine tools, intelligent agricultural machinery, and intelligent medical devices to meet the intelligentization needs of various industries. Third, smoothing production-sales linkages. A group of high-quality artificial intelligence application service providers will be cultivated, and "in-depth trips" for supply-demand matching will continue to be carried out, smoothing the channels for intelligent products from factory floors to commercial districts and from production to consumption, so that more "smart quality products" can be placed on shelves and benefit the people.
