BYTE META (08645) proposes to change its name to "Mekong Supercompute Holdings Limited"

BYTE META (08645) has announced that the board of directors proposes to change the company's existing English name from "Byte Metaverse Holdings Limited" to "Mekong Supercompute Holdings Limited," and to discontinue the use of the Chinese name "BYTE META" as the company's dual foreign name. The company is an investment holding company, and the group is principally engaged in the provision of: (i) network support services (primarily including network infrastructure design and hardware installation, network management and security services); (ii) network connectivity services (primarily providing intranet and internet connectivity solutions and value-added services); (iii) e-commerce services; and (iv) online game intellectual property (IP) licensing management services. The board of directors believes that the proposed change of company name will better reflect the group's strategic transformation and core business restructuring, establish a new corporate identity consistent with the substance of its business, and capture emerging industry opportunities.
