Hang Seng Indexes Company launches eight new indices covering themes such as technology, semiconductors, hard tech, and computing power.

On September 23, Hang Seng Indexes Company launched eight new indices. They are the Hang Seng Tech Composite Index, the Hang Seng Tech Composite LargeCap Index, the Hang Seng Tech Composite MidCap & SmallCap Index, the Hang Seng Semiconductor Industry Index, the Hang Seng Hard Tech Index, the Hang Seng Computing Power Theme Index, the Hang Seng Stock Connect Hong Kong Computing Power Theme Index, and the Hang Seng A-Share Semiconductor Materials Theme Index. The new indices are calculated and disseminated in real time every two seconds. Specifically: Hang Seng Tech Composite Index: designed to provide a benchmark for the overall performance of technology companies in the Hong Kong securities market. Hang Seng Tech Composite LargeCap Index: reflects the overall performance of large-cap technology companies in the Hong Kong securities market. Hang Seng Tech Composite MidCap & SmallCap Index: reflects the overall performance of mid-cap and small-cap technology companies in the Hong Kong securities market. Hang Seng Semiconductor Industry Index: reflects the overall performance of Hong Kong-listed companies principally engaged in the semiconductor industry value chain, including the design, manufacturing, packaging, testing, integrated solutions and application of semiconductors and chips. Hang Seng Hard Tech Index: reflects the overall performance of Hong Kong-listed companies principally engaged in hard tech-related businesses, including semiconductors, artificial intelligence, electronic equipment, new energy equipment and other high-end equipment manufacturing industries. Hang Seng Computing Power Theme Index: reflects the performance of Hong Kong-listed companies whose businesses are related to the computing power theme. Hang Seng Stock Connect Hong Kong Computing Power Theme Index: reflects the performance of Hong Kong-listed companies whose businesses are related to the computing power theme and which are tradable via Stock Connect. Hang Seng A-Share Semiconductor Materials Theme Index: reflects the performance of mainland-listed companies whose businesses are related to semiconductor materials and their applications.
