On September 1, HKEX announced that since its listing on August 3, the five-year Chinese government bond futures have continued to attract market attention, with trading activity and market participation steadily increasing. In its first month of listing, the average daily trading volume of the contracts reached 1,727; open interest grew steadily from 991 contracts on the first trading day to 2,582 contracts by the end of August. The product has attracted participation from over 40 market participants, including asset management institutions, banks, securities firms, hedge funds, and proprietary trading firms. At the same time, the bid-ask spread remained tight throughout August. HKEX will continue to enrich and diversify its product ecosystem to support investors' risk management needs and further enhance the attractiveness of Chinese assets to international investors.
